One Day In Ayvalik 01/07/2009

Some needs of 45 children who live in tents in Altınova were supplied by the organization of governorship and municipality of Ayvalık and Institution of Social Services.

12 children from 6-12 group of age were bathed by Social Services officers and new clothes were given as gift to the children. After they had their lunch together, children spent time in the play garden of dormitory. They enjoyed fully this pleasant day.

Little Romans didn’t move away from the nearby of Nihat Nalbant, governor of Ayvalık and they thanked all people who contributed to this organization.

Nalbant declared that although he was happy with children, it was only a temporary happiness. He said “We saw our children’s position in winter. I observed their life in tents. What we are doing is not solution; however it is better than not to do anything. Now, their happiness reflected on me. I experienced it, yet it is not permanent. After a while, all of them will go to tents and a few days later they will become dirty again. This happiness is temporary. We wish we could give home to all families and find job to them. We wish fathers could buy shoes to their children by themselves. We wish children could have bath not in institutions, but in their homes.”
