Microcredit Relieved Peddler Women 03/11/2011
The microcredit given by Foundation For The Support Of Women's Work to Gypsy women subsisting on peddling makes easier subsistence for many families. Peddler women were subsidized between 100-3500 tl(65-2500$) on credit in 4-12 months in the context of microcredit project from which 200 Gypsy women benefited in 2011.
Sakarya and Düzce representative of Foundation For The Support Of Women's Work said that Gypsy women generally get credit between 500-1000 tl. Gümüş, who says that Gypsy women pay their taxes regularly, underlines that people who pay their taxes on time could get credit again. There are grocers, rope and sod producers besides peddlers among women who benefited from microcredit.
