Change of Duty In Didim Roma Association 28/12/2011

Mümin Çakır is chosen as the president in the ordinary meeting of general assembly of Didim Rumelian Roma Solidarity and Cooperation Association. Bayram Demirci, Mehmet Çınar, Mehmet Yücel and Behçet Kemal Pehlivan participated to the management in the election in which ex-president Metin Çakır didn't stand as a candidate.

Former management of Didim Rumelian Roma Solidarity and Cooperation Association organized various activities with the Roma dance group they founded and contributed to the promotion of Roma Gypsy culture. Activities organized between 2009-2010 by the former management of the association was admired by non-Gypsies besides local Gypsy population.

The former management of the association earned publicities' respect with the attitude they had against painful incident happened in Selendi in 2010. Members of the association marched to the Didim Central Mosque and made a press statement there with participation of the mayor Mümim Kamacı about the Selendi incident. Metin Çakır evaluated the incident with those words: "We, as Roma of Turkey, are trouble with the incident happened in Selendi. We have always been in peace with our government. We borned here, we will die here. Turkey is the country of us. We condemn strongly the attack of Selendi."
