Vocational Courses Will Be Opened In Tekirdağ 03/08/2011
Tekirdağ city director of Turkish Employment Organization Şerafettin Küçük said that vocational courses for Roma Gypsies will be opened in various districts of Tekirdağ. Şerafettin Küçük underlined that they will plan the process of opening vocational courses according to demands of Roma Gypsies living in various districts of Tekirdağ.
Şerafettin Küçük remind that employers don't want to allocate any resources to train personnel and this is the reason why they want to employ skilled labor. Vocational courses are so important to train skilled labor for industry according to Şerafettin Küçük. Küçük explains their previous experiences about vocational courses for Roma Gypsies that they opened a vocational course on using sewing machine with 18 person capacity. Küçük says they will open new courses for Roma Gypsies in Çorlu and Çerkezköy districts of Tekirdağ according to self-demands of Roma Gypsies living in the districts.
Vocational courses are an urgent need according to Şerafettin Küçük because employers need at least 1000 qualified workmen in Tekirdağ. The news of vocational courses will be opened in Tekirdağ created a great enthusiasm among Roma Gypsies. The common wish of citizens is courses to be opened as soon as possible with the maximum capacity. Roma Gypsies have also an other demand about qualify of worklife. Prejudices targeting Gypsies could create problems among employee and between employee and employers and this cause Roma Gypsies to be excluded from work life.
